Our Story
Beds built around the way dogs actually sleep, each one named for a corner of the Lakes.
Everything PawLunova sells starts from a habit most owners have watched without quite noticing. The dog walks over to their bed, turns twice, lies down, gets up again, and settles on the kitchen floor instead. Nobody complains. The dog has simply made a decision about the bed.
About PawLunova: beds sorted by how dogs sleep
Dogs don't all sleep the same way, and the way they sleep is the best guide to the bed they'll keep using. Curlers tuck their nose under their tail and press their back into whatever is closest. Leaners want a chin on the sofa arm or a spine against the wall. Sprawlers lie flat on their side and take up every inch they're given.
So we sort the range by sleeping style before price or colour: walls for curlers in our nest and donut beds, an edge to lean on in our bolster beds, and open surface for sprawlers in our dog mattresses. A bed with the wrong shape gets abandoned, however good the filling is.
The part you can't see
Most of what decides whether a bed still works next winter is inside it. Loose filling is cheap, and it shifts and flattens where the weight goes. Foam costs more and keeps its shape. That's why our orthopaedic beds are built on foam: memory foam, crumb memory foam, gel memory foam or profiled egg-crate foam, and on some, memory foam over an egg-crate layer. Several also have a waterproof inner liner between the cover and the foam, so one accident or one soaked coat doesn't end the bed.
Not every dog wants firm, though. Many of our nests are fibre-filled on purpose, because a dog who burrows wants soft give on every side. We'd rather say so on the product page than have you find out in month three.
Named after the Lake District
Borrowdale, Coniston, Grasmere, Buttermere, Wasdale, Helvellyn. Most of our beds take their names from the lakes, fells, valleys and villages of the Lake District. It's walking country: wet days on the tops, a muddy dog in the boot, and an evening where all anyone wants is somewhere warm to lie down. That end of the day is what these beds are for. A place name is also easier to remember than a product code when you come back for a second bed for upstairs.
Straight answers before you buy
Where we list sizes, they are in centimetres, and on many walled beds we say when a measurement is the outside rather than the sleeping area. Where a measurement is missing or unclear, we'd rather you asked than guessed. Send us your dog's breed and weight and we'll tell you honestly which size fits.
We're careful about what a bed can and can't do, too. A bed is for comfort; it isn't a treatment. If your dog is in pain, recovering or finding it hard to move, keep talking to your vet. What the right shape and the right filling can change is how much effort goes into lying down, and how much goes into getting back up.
The promise: 100 nights to decide
You can't ask a dog in a showroom, and not every dog gives a verdict on the first night. So most of our beds come with a 100-night sleep trial from delivery. If it isn't right, we arrange free UK mainland collection and a full refund. One trial per household; damage and other exclusions apply. A hundred nights is longer than a whole winter, which is plenty of time to know.
The exceptions are stated on their product pages: outdoor dog houses and day beds have a 30-day change-of-mind window with return at your cost instead, and personalised beds are made to order, so they're excluded. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Not sure where to start? The Bed Finder asks four questions, beginning with how your dog sleeps, and suggests one bed in the size we'd pick.
Named for the Lakes
Why they are named after fells and dales.
Borrowdale, Coniston, Grasmere, Windermere. The range takes its names from the places the walking gets done at weekends, which is also where most of the thinking about these beds happened.
Each one is built around a sleeping style rather than a price point. Curlers get walls. Sprawlers get surface. Old joints get foam that does not bottom out. Where a bed is fibre-filled rather than foam, the product page says so.
