Nocturne is an orthopaedic bolster dog bed for large dogs, with a profiled egg-crate foam base, a waterproof inner membrane and a non-slip base. Large (91 × 69cm) and Extra Large (107 × 76cm), in Grey or Dark Grey.
Watch your dog through one winter evening and you will see two dogs. Early on, curled tight with a chin propped on the edge. Later, warm and sleepy, rolled out to full length. Most beds only suit one of them. Nocturne's bolster is open-sided, so they can rest a chin on it, then stretch out without ever leaving the bed, and a waterproof inner membrane keeps wet coats and spills off the foam.
Best for: Large dogs who alternate between leaning against an edge and stretching right out.

Measure your dog lying on their side, nose to base of tail, and add 15 to 20cm. These are outside measurements and the bolster takes up some of that, so between sizes, size up. Not sure? Message us their breed and weight and we will tell you honestly which one fits.

Press a flat hand into the middle of their current bed, where they lie. If you can feel the floor through it, so can their hips and elbows. Do the same on the Nocturne whenever you like: if the foam ever fails that test under normal use inside the guarantee, that's exactly what the guarantee is for.

Most adult Labradors need the Large or the XL, and a sprawler needs the bigger of the two. Measure them lying stretched out, nose to base of tail, add about 20cm, and compare with the sleeping area on the size cards. If that lands between two sizes, go up: a bed that's slightly too big is never the problem, one that's too small always is.
The "What's inside" card above says exactly what's in this bed: the core type and, where we've measured it, the depth and the density. If it's memory foam over egg-crate foam, it says so. If it's fibre, it says so. We'd rather you knew now than in month three.
Beds that go flat are usually loose fibre, or thin foam that bottoms out. A dog who picks the kitchen floor over his bed has usually done the comparison: the floor is flatter and firmer than a bed that has bottomed out.
