Bassenthwaite is a raised mesh dog bed on a metal frame, in Large (90 × 70cm), XL (110 × 80cm) and XXL (130 × 90cm). No foam, no stuffing, no cover to wrestle off. Just a taut breathable deck lifted clear of the floor.
In winter the floor is the problem. Tiles in the kitchen, concrete in the utility room, damp ground in the kennel, all of it cold, wet and covered in whatever came in on their paws. Bassenthwaite lifts them clear on a taut, breathable deck, with no foam or filling to go soggy after a wet walk. Lay a blanket on top on cold nights, and at the end of a muddy week, rinse it down and let it dry.

Every soft bed you have bought has the same ending: it soaks up water, holds smell, flattens, and goes in the bin. There is nothing on this one to do any of that. Frame and mesh, hosed down as often as you like, used indoors in winter and outside all summer. And you have 100 nights to decide. Measure your dog lying on their side, nose to base of tail, and add 15 to 20cm. The whole deck is usable sleeping area, so there is no bolster to lose space to. Not sure? Message us their breed and weight and we will tell you honestly which one fits.
Rinse the mesh and frame with water and let it dry fully. Keep it on a level surface and check the frame joints occasionally.

Covers, zips, liners, waterproof layers, bolsters, fibre filling and non-slip bases are wearing parts and aren't included. The Bassenthwaite is not listed with a waterproof liner, so treat it as having none. If accidents are likely, keep a second cover ready and ask us before you order.

If that lands between two sizes, go up: a bed that's slightly too big is never the problem, one that's too small always is.
The "What's inside" card above says exactly what's in this bed: the core type and, where we've measured it, the depth and the density. If it's memory foam over egg-crate foam, it says so. If it's fibre, it says so. We'd rather you knew now than in month three.

A dog who picks the kitchen floor over his bed has usually done the comparison: the floor is flatter and firmer than a bed that has bottomed out. Put the new one where he already sleeps, old blanket on top, and give him a fortnight. If he still won't, it comes back inside the 100 nights and you're refunded in full.
