Mungrisdale is an orthopaedic dog crate mattress, 119 × 74cm, with 9cm of high-density egg-crate foam, a plush brown sherpa top, a non-skid base and a removable, machine-washable cover.
A crate is meant to feel like a den, the one place in the house that is completely theirs. But plenty of crates come with nothing more than a thin plastic tray, and a den with a hard floor is not somewhere a dog goes by choice. Mungrisdale is sized for a large crate, with 9cm of egg-crate foam and a deep sherpa top, so the door can stay open and they will still walk in on their own. It works just as well on the floor by the radiator.

Check the inside length and width of your crate before ordering, so the mattress sits flat without bunching. On the floor, measure your dog lying on their side, nose to base of tail, and add 15 to 20cm. Not sure? Message us their breed and weight and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Unzip the cover and machine wash it following the care label, then tumble dry on low. Do not bleach or iron. Never wash or soak the foam. Give the foam 24 to 48 hours after unboxing to recover its full shape.
If your dog is in pain, recovering or finding it hard to move, speak to your vet about the right resting surface. A bed is for comfort. It is not a treatment.

Press a flat hand into the middle of their current bed, where they lie. If you can feel the floor through it, so can their hips and elbows. Do the same on the Mungrisdale whenever you like: if the foam ever fails that test under normal use inside the guarantee, that's exactly what the guarantee is for.

Measure nose to base of tail while they're lying down, then add about 20cm. Between two sizes? Go up. The size cards above list the sleeping area where we've measured it. Still unsure? Send us their breed and weight.
Most adult Labradors need the Large or the XL, and a sprawler needs the bigger of the two. Measure them lying stretched out, nose to base of tail, add about 20cm, and compare with the sleeping area on the size cards. If that lands between two sizes, go up: a bed that's slightly too big is never the problem, one that's too small always is.

A dog who picks the kitchen floor over his bed has usually done the comparison: the floor is flatter and firmer than a bed that has bottomed out.
