For the dog who curls tight and presses their back into something soft.

The Moment

Some dogs don't stretch out. They circle twice, curl tight, tuck their nose under a paw, and press their back into whatever is behind them. A cushion. Your leg. The arm of the sofa. It isn't fussiness. It's how they have always felt safe. The Harewood is built for exactly that dog.

The Promise

Deep raised walls to press into. A soft cushioned base beneath them. Navy velvet that earns its place in the room instead of apologising for it. The curl, finally, with somewhere made for it.

Why It Works

A curled sleeper settles faster when something firm sits at their back; it is the same instinct that sends them into corners and under tables. The Harewood's walls rise on all four sides, up to 23cm on the Large, so wherever they turn, there is something to lean into. Beneath them, a deep cushioned base lifts them off the hard floor, and the short velvet pile holds their body warmth in the way smooth fabrics never do.

Feature to Benefit

  • Raised walls on all four sides: something to press into whichever way they curl.
  • Deep cushioned base: off the cold floor, cradled rather than flattened.
  • Short-pile navy velvet: holds warmth, feels expensive, looks it too.
  • Three honest sizes: from a curled Chihuahua to a curled Cocker Spaniel.
  • Light and compact: moves from living room to bedroom without a fuss.

Who It's For, and Who It Isn't

For curl sleepers: the circlers, the burrowers, the nose-tuckers. Toy and small breeds fit beautifully, and plenty of cats have claimed one too. It is not for sprawlers or big breeds. A Labrador will not fit in this bed, and we would rather tell you that now. For stretched-out sleepers and larger dogs, our orthopaedic mattresses are the right home.

Size and Fit

Small, 46 × 36cm: Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, Dachshund, most cats.
Medium, 61 × 46cm: Pug, French Bulldog, Cavalier, Shih Tzu.
Large, 71 × 58cm: Cocker Spaniel, Beagle, Border Terrier.

Measure your dog curled, not stretched: nose to the base of the tail while they sleep, then add a few centimetres. Between sizes? Go up. Nobody ever complained a bed was too big.

Materials and the Room

Deep navy velvet with a soft, short pile that catches the light the way good upholstery does. This is a bed that belongs beside your sofa, not hidden behind it. Calming, dark, and quietly expensive-looking, so their spot in the room finally matches yours.

Care and the First Nights

Care: a soft brush against the pile lifts hair; a lint roller finishes the job. [ADD AFTER SAMPLE CHECK, ONLY IF TRUE: “The cover zips off and machine washes at 30 degrees.” OR “Sponge-clean with warm water; the pile brushes back up as it dries.”]

First nights: drop their usual blanket in so it smells like theirs, and put the bed where they already choose to sleep. Most curl sleepers claim it within three nights.

Honest Answers

Will my dog actually use it?
Curl sleepers usually claim it fast, especially with a familiar blanket inside for the first nights. And if they don't, the trial below means you are not stuck with it.

What size do I need?
Match the breed lists above, measure them curled, and go up if in doubt. The walls should sit around their back, not under their chin.

Is it big enough for a Labrador or German Shepherd?
No. The Large suits curl sleepers up to roughly 16kg. Bigger dogs deserve our orthopaedic mattresses instead.

Does navy velvet show hair?
Light hair will show between brush-downs, as it does on any dark fabric. A quick brush against the pile or a lint roller sorts it in under a minute.

How does the 100 night trial work?
Use the bed for up to 100 nights. If it is not right for your dog, contact us, we arrange free collection, and refund you in full. No restocking fees, no awkward emails.

The Close

Tonight they'll circle twice, curl into the corner, tuck their nose under a paw, and let out that long settling breath. Their spot. Finally theirs.
