Made in Yorkshire
Our Story
Every bed takes its name from somewhere in the lakes and dales, because that's where they're designed, made and dispatched from.
PawLunova · Our Story
We bought five bad dog beds
so you don't have to buy a sixth.
PawLunova is a British dog bed brand that started the way most of these things start — with a good dog, a bad bed, and three years of quietly wasting money.
It started with a dog who wouldn't settle
He was older by then. Slower on the stairs, heavier in the hips, doing that thing older dogs do where they circle a bed three times, half lie down, think better of it, and go and sleep on the cold kitchen floor instead. Because the floor, at least, was honest. The floor never pretended to be supportive and then folded under him at 2am.
If you have a dog like that, you already know the specific, low-grade guilt of it. You bought the bed. You read the words orthopaedic and memory foam and premium on the listing. You spent real money. And your dog still chose the floor.
Five beds in three years
That is the actual number. Five.
Each one promised orthopaedic support. Each one felt magnificent for about a fortnight — because the bit you feel in the first fortnight is the cover, and the cover is the cheapest part of the bed. Then the foam underneath quietly gave up. The last one lasted eleven weeks before it was indistinguishable from a folded blanket with a zip.
Five beds at an average of £60 is £300. Three years of a dog not sleeping properly. And at no point in any of those five purchases did anybody tell us the one number that would have predicted every single failure in advance.
Nobody sells you a dog bed on foam density. They sell you a photograph of a cover. The cover decides how it feels in week one; the foam decides whether it still exists in year three.
So we went and learned it. Density, thickness, certification, liner construction, what actually happens to a cheap foam core under 30kg of Labrador twelve hours a day. Then we went looking for beds built to that standard, and we built a brand around only ever selling those. The full explanation of foam density is here — it is the most useful ten minutes you will spend before buying any dog bed, ours or anyone else's.
We don't own a factory. We own a standard.
This is the part where most brands our size tell you about their workshop. We're not going to, because we don't have one, and you deserve to know exactly what you're buying from.
PawLunova is a British brand, run from Bury in Greater Manchester, and our beds are made by established manufacturing partners who build to a specification we set and check. That is the honest shape of it. What we actually do is the part that decides whether your dog sleeps well:
- We set the floor on foam. A high-density core, CertiPUR-US certified, or the bed doesn't go on the site. This is the single specification most brands leave out of the listing entirely.
- We refuse the range game. No two hundred near-identical beds in eleven colourways. A short, considered range where every bed has a reason to exist.
- We publish the numbers. Density, dimensions in centimetres, wash temperature, what the guarantee does and does not cover. If we won't put a number next to a claim, we don't make the claim.
- We carry the risk, not you. 100 nights to send it back, and five years on the foam. Both explained in plain English below.
Why say all this out loud? Because "handmade in our British workshop" is the easiest sentence in e-commerce to write and one of the hardest to prove, and a lot of brands write it anyway. We would rather tell you the truth and let you judge us on the foam.
A range small enough to hold in your head
Every bed we sell earns its place. There is no filler, and there is nothing on the site purely because it was cheap to stock.
For the older dog
Memory foam over a high-density core, bolstered sides for a head to rest on. Built for stiff hips and slow mornings.
For the burrower
High-walled nest and bouclé beds for dogs who sleep curled into a corner and need something to press against.
For the mucky one
Waterproof and wipe-clean constructions for wet coats, muddy paws and dogs who find every puddle in the county.
For the car and the crate
Flat memory foam mattresses cut to standard crate and boot sizes, so the good bed travels too.
Not sure which size you need? The size guide takes thirty seconds and covers every breed from a Chihuahua to a Bernese Mountain Dog. Or let the Bed Finder ask you four questions and just tell you.
The two promises we put in writing
100 nights to decide
Dogs are not focus groups. They need a few weeks to stop treating a new bed as a suspicious object and start actually sleeping on it. So you get 100 nights. If it isn't right, we collect it free of charge and refund every penny — no forms designed to make you give up, no restocking fee, no "we'll need the original packaging".
5 years, no flattening
If the foam core loses its structural shape under normal use by the dog it was sized for, within five years, we replace the bed. That is a promise about the part of the bed nobody else will talk about — and it is the reason we care so much about density. It does not cover chewing, cover fabric wear or normal cosmetic ageing, because no honest guarantee could.

From Abbas, who answers your emails
I've had large dogs my whole life. I know what it costs — in money, and then in the other way — when a dog gets older and starts to struggle, and you find yourself doing the maths on whether the stairs are still a good idea.
I couldn't fix his hips. I could make absolutely certain that the twelve hours a day he spent lying down weren't making it worse. That is the entire founding logic of this company, and it's why I still read every email that comes in myself. If you write to us, you get me, usually within a working day.
