Senior & large-breed support · Most popular
Large breeds carry more weight across their joints every night they sleep. The Kendal is built for that — a dense, supportive foam base that doesn't sink under real weight, a quilted surface that feels considered, and a cover that comes off and goes in the machine. If your dog is older, slower on the stairs, or just big and deserving, this is their bed.

Built to last 5–10 years with proper care. That's under £1 a week for a dog that weighs as much as you do.
Dogs with hip dysplasia, arthritis, or joint stiffness benefit most from a bed that distributes their weight evenly. The Kendal's foam base does that without bottoming out. No pressure points. No ridges from compressed springs. A flat, consistent sleeping surface for a dog whose joints notice the difference.
Large and extra-large breeds (approximately 25kg and over). Senior dogs with joint issues or arthritis. Dogs that have worn through every other bed. Owners who want to buy once.
[X]kg/m³ high-density foam — tested under sustained weight from dogs up to [X]kg without measurable compression loss. Waterproof inner liner (100% polyester, 200g/m²). Removable quilted outer cover, [material]. [Certification, if verified]. No springs. No hollow fibre. Foam that stays foam.

Not every bed needs to be a statement. Sometimes you need the one that gets used — every single day, by a dog who sleeps upside down with all four legs at compass points. The Kendal is that bed: a clean quilted mattress with one job and total commitment to it. No deep walls to negotiate, no novelty shape, just generous flat comfort your dog flops onto without ceremony — which, if you've ever watched a sprawler try to fold themselves into a donut bed, is the whole argument.
Sprawlers carry their weight wide — hips, shoulders and elbows all in contact at once — so the support that matters is even support: cushioning that doesn't dip in the middle or thin at the edges where joints land. The Kendal's quilted channels hold the fill in a grid, keeping the surface consistent across every inch of it. And for seniors, the low profile is its own kindness: stepping on beats climbing in, every time.
Right for: sprawlers and stretchers, larger breeds, older dogs who want easy access, multi-dog households (flat beds share better). Not for: nervous curlers who need walls around them — that's the Windermere's job.
Zip off the quilted outer cover and machine wash at 30°C, gentle cycle. Air dry flat. The quilted structure holds its shape when dried correctly — do not tumble dry. The foam base is spot-clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap. Allow to dry fully before replacing the cover. The waterproof liner protects the foam from accidents; it is attached and not removable.
