Medium, Large and XL.

Tartan belongs to winter. So does a dog who comes in from the fields soaked to the skin. Most tartan beds are made for the first and ruined by the second. Eskdale has an internal waterproof layer, so wet coats and accidents never reach the filling, raised bolster sides to lean against, leather handles to carry it out to the car, and a non-slip base so it stays put on the flagstones.

What they get

Raised bolster sides: A cushioned edge for a chin or a back.

A waterproof layer inside: Wet coats and accidents stop before they reach the filling.

Leather carry handles: For moving the empty bed between rooms, or into the boot.

A non-slip base: It stays put on hard floors.

Tartan upholstery: Traditional, and heavier than printed cotton.

Why it is worth the money

The waterproof layer is the difference between a bed that survives one muddy winter and one that does not, and it is invisible in a photograph, which is precisely why cheaper tartan beds leave it out.
