Two sizes: Large at 107 × 76 × 10cm and XL at 119 × 74 × 9cm.

The dog bed is often the one thing in the lounge you would rather visitors did not look at. So it gets pushed into a corner, or out into the hallway, and your dog follows it there, out of the room where the family is. Loughrigg is quilted velvet, the kind of finish you would choose for a footstool, so it can sit right by the sofa where they want to be. Under the velvet, egg-crate foam spreads their weight, a waterproof layer protects it from accidents, and the base grips the floor when they turn their three circles before lying down.

What they get

Quilted velvet: A soft, warm surface with multi-needle quilting that helps it keep its shape.

Egg-crate foam: High-density profiled foam that spreads their weight evenly.

A waterproof layer: Protects the foam from accidents and wet coats.

A base that grips: Oxford fabric with anti-slip dots.

Quick to wash: L-shaped zips so the cover comes off easily.

Best for: Large dogs who sleep flat out, in the lounge or in a crate.

Why it is worth the money

A flat mattress gives you every centimetre as sleeping space, with no bolsters eating into the edges, and with a waterproof layer under the velvet it is built for everyday use, not just for show.
